This is my latest project and also my pride and joy. It features original Fender Tele pickups from the 50s, a thicker and rounder neck, slim frets and a killer Bigsby.
I chose mostly local woods for this project. Body: Mahogany and Araucaria/ Fretboard: Pau Ferro/ Neck and Headstock: Marfin.
Getting to those basic shapes. I carved these little white squares from raw pieces of bone.
Preparing for paint and varnish. I call this stage "the lollipop part".
Now you see curves.
And now you don't.
Curious fact: I took some design inspiration from the late Italian Ekomaster plus, of course, Fender's Telecaster.
